Congratulations! It is wonderful to see the results of the great work by researchers and planners at CORIN. This can truely benefit the local people in the area.
I am very curious and interested in the improvization of Water Hyacinth. I wonder if there has been any studies to use the highly fibrous structure of this plant in a "green material" applications. I am not an expert on this subject, but with some chemical improvements and lamination, the fiber of Water Hyacinth may be used to form panels and light beams similar to glulam. This may be an interesting topic to collaborate with the Department of Material Science and Department of Engineering. The green material and sustainable development is a fast growing subject now. Water Hyacinth may be a good source of materials.
