Have you ever bought something because of how the package looks?
Making a decision on a product has a lot to do with how you would package it.
Work is the same way. You can package your work assignment or your project to collaborate with friends. But how would you make the people see the importance and want to be a part of your work. is a challenge, right?
You may consider how you want to "package" it. Because people will "buy-in" what they feel there is value (benefits) to them.
Example: You have a new software that you think the office needs to buy so your work can be more efficient. Nobody wants this. And your boss is money conscious. What to do?
Look for things that are problematic among your coworkers. Challenge yourself by thinking how this new software would help solve these problems. Start approach your co-workers to let you try use this program to help them (who would not want help?) Show by reporting to every one including the boss.
You can package it as the "problem solver" software rather than just another office software.
Conclusion: decision can be easily made when people see it benefits them not you.
